Frequently Asked Questions
Is SSA a distributor, a broker or a consortium?
Answer: Because of the depth of our partnerships, SSA's business
model incorporates aspects of all three. This allows SSA to be very
flexible in determining the best way to service each customer.
Where will product ordered from SSA be coming from?
Answer: It will all depend on customer location, product and quantities.
Full truckload orders will generally come direct from suppliers.
Less-than-truckload orders may come from suppliers, or from SSA's
inventory.
Do orders have to be in full truckload quantities?
Answer: No - Working with our sister company, CFM Logistics, we
will find the most efficient way to deliver just about any size
load to our customers. Minimum order quantities have been established
for each product and will be communicated by your SSA representative.
What happens if SSA is purchasing product from my current supplier?
Answer: SSA has worked with its suppliers to create solutions to
this issue. In many cases, by working with the supplier, we can
implement a seamless transition. In other cases SSA will eliminate
itself from consideration so we can maintain the relationships that
are so critical to the value we offer.
Can an SSA customer use its own freight system to transport
product?
Answer: Absolutely! SSA will work with you to determine the most
effective and efficient way of delivering product.
Who will be responsible for servicing product purchased from
SSA?
Answer: In most cases the supplier of the product to SSA will be
responsible for servicing the product.
Does my spec have to exactly match SSA's spec?
Answer: No - With most of our products, the supplier will work with
us to accommodate your specification needs.
Does SSA offer any products that are not on their current product
list?
Answer: Yes - Because of SSA's extensive network of suppliers and
purchasing power we can frequently source products not on our current
list at very competitive prices.
Are long-term contracts required?
Answer: No - However, if you would like to lock in specific pricing,
contracts can be administered.
